Where is Gao ?
 Gao is located in the Northern part of  Mali ie. south  of the Sahara desert. Water is rare, except in the vicinity of the Niger river which flows across almost all west Africa.


Where is the village of Tin Aouker ?
Tin Aouker is located 40 miles north of Gao. It numbers approximately 60,000 inhabitants, split into 13 fractions which are mostly Tuareg.
Tin Aouker belongs to the huge region of Tilemsi. which is a rural district spread over almost 200 miles north to south.
